It is sad and disappointing to see the extent to which capitalism and consumerism both are tightening their grip on urban culture. There are billboards everywhere. Every major intersection looks like a mini-Times Square. Almost makes me want to change career tracks and figure out how to develop without the unwelcome bullshit superficial culture coming as a sidekick. Almost.
